An OKC/Edmond Family Photographer Worth the Drive by Sunny Thomas

Choosing the right family photographer in Oklahoma City or Edmond isn’t just about finding someone with a camera—it’s about finding someone who can create meaningful memories and make the experience genuinely enjoyable.

At DaybreakPics.com, that’s exactly what we aim to do, and one recent client recommendation perfectly captured what sets our photography apart.

“Sunny with DaybreakPics.com has taken our family's pictures twice, and he is our absolute favorite. He makes the entire experience fun, and his work is incredible. We live in Texas, so we have used other photographers for photos in the past as well. None compare to the work DaybreakPics.com does. It is worth it for my family to drive several hours for these great photographic memories. He is very professional and we highly recommend him for capturing any experience.”

When a family is willing to drive several hours—across state lines, no less—that says more than any marketing slogan ever could.

This family had worked with other photographers before, yet chose to return to DaybreakPics in the Oklahoma City / Edmond area not once, but twice. Why? Because they weren’t just looking for photos. They wanted an experience that felt personal, relaxed, and memorable.

Families choose us because they want:

  • A family photographer near Edmond and Oklahoma City who works easily with kids

  • Sessions that feel fun, not forced

  • Images that reflect real connection and personality

  • A photographer they can trust year after year

One of the most common things clients tell us is how comfortable the session feels. That’s intentional.

As a professional family photographer serving Oklahoma City, Edmond, and surrounding communities, we focus on:

  • Creating a relaxed environment where families can be themselves

  • Guiding sessions without making them feel stiff or awkward

  • Capturing genuine expressions and real moments

  • Delivering consistent, high-quality results

When families enjoy the experience, it shows in the final images—and that’s what keeps clients coming back.

Professionalism matters, especially when you’re trusting someone with your family’s memories.

When you book DaybreakPics.com, you can expect:

  • Clear communication and planning

  • Respect for your time and schedule

  • Attention to detail in both shooting and editing

  • A polished, professional experience from start to finish

Whether you’re booking family portraits in Edmond, family photography in Oklahoma City, or another type of session, our approach remains the same: dependable, thoughtful, and focused on quality.

Family photos aren’t just for today—they’re for the future.

They become:

  • Artwork on your walls

  • Albums your children will look through years from now

  • A visual record of your family’s story

Knowing that families are willing to travel to the Oklahoma City area for those memories reinforces why we take such care in every session.

If you’re looking for a family photographer in Oklahoma City or Edmond who delivers both a great experience and timeless images, I’d love to connect with you.

We've Moved to Serve You Better! by Sunny Thomas

I have some big news to share, but first, a little background. I was introduced to digital photography around 2009. It started when I was handed a camera and asked to take pictures at a church event. Over time, my love of photography grew. In 2011, I officially incorporated my photography business, DaybreakPics.com. Then, in 2015, I made a huge leap of faith and began running my photography business on a full-time basis. At first, I was working out of my home, Starbucks, Panera, etc. After doing that for a while, I was fortunate enough to rent studio and office space from another photographer.

Today, I’m very excited to announce the next chapter as I open my very own studio space. This is a great space that provides more flexibility and is in a much better location. We are now at 36 W Memorial Rd in OKC. We’re near the corner of Santa Fe and Memorial and right across the street from TLC Garden Center.

Right now, the space is a pretty simple rectangular white box. Over the next few months, I’ll be enhancing the space to better serve you. I can’t wait to share all the new things we’ll be able to offer with this new studio.

Thank you so much for your support of me and my business over the years. It’s because of your continued support and God’s blessings, that my business has grown and gets to use this new studio space. It’s been an amazing ride so far. The next chapter of DaybreakPics.com starts today!

Daddy and Daughter Photo Experience by Sunny Thomas

At this time of year, a lot of places offer Daddy and Daughter dances.  Due to COVID, many places will be cancelling their dances this year and that's understandable, but it's disheartening.  Taking my daughter to a Daddy and Daughter dance is one of my fondest memories I have with her.

So my team and I started thinking about if there was a way to create a fun time for dads and their daughters in a safe manner.  We created the Daddy and Daughter Photo experience.

Here's what the experience looks like.  We will have one couple at a time come to our photography studio in Edmond for a special dance photo session.  The session will be 15 minutes long and they will schedule their appointment right here.

When the dad and daughter arrive at the studio, they will receive a special gift box.  In the box, will be a wrist corsage for the dad to give to his daughter.  Then, we'll take a posed photo of the couple.  After taking the photo, we'll invite them to the dance floor in our studio.  We'll take a few more candid pictures while they dance to their favorite song.  We'll print the one posed 5 x 7 photo right away, and give it to them as a memento from the special day.  The other photos will be available for download. That's the end of the photo session, but it's just the beginning of the date experience.

Inside the gift box will be other things that the dad and daughter can do together to help them have a great time as they continue their date on their own.  The box will contain a photo frame that they can decorate together, cookies to share, a coupon to a nearby restaurant for some dessert, and some fun things to talk about and activities to do as they enjoy their time together.

The whole Daddy and Daughter Photo experience costs just $50 plus tax for one adult and child. You can bring additional children for an additional $25 per child. If you are interested, you can schedule your session here.

Sneak Peek - Varughese Family Portraits by Sunny Thomas

I've had the privilege of taking the Varughese family pictures for several years now.  A few weeks ago, I was able to take newborn pictures of the newest member of the family, Ava.  Today, I took extended family portraits that include both sets of Ava's grandparents and her uncles.  Here are a few of those pictures.
